SWAT

Special Weapons and Tactics(SWAT) for the Department Of Public Safety.

Mission

  • The mission of the Special Weapons and Tactics(SWAT) team is to resolve or mitigate high-risk or potentially hazardous incidents occurring facilities and serve as a rapid deployment force. The SWAT team also serves as a departmental resource for tactical training and high-risk operations

  • The primary duty of the Special Weapons and Tactics(SWAT) team for the Department of Public Safety is to ensure all citizens are ensured safety in their most unsettling hours. These tasks include, but are not limited to, hostage situations, active shooters, and entrapments. The department has granted the division access to four(4) vehicles which are utilized to transport operatives, equipment, and or gain access to building(s).

Additional missions performed by Special Weapons and Tactics operatives:

  • Assist local law enforcement and their bureaus with potential, and confirmed, high-risk investigations and or subjects.

  • Respond and control riots or unlawful gatherings which could escalate.

  • Serve warrants alongside local and state law enforcement.

  • Search and Seizure operations.

  • Work alongside the departments aviation unit to conduct specific operations/tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be employed as a Trooper with the Department Of Public Safety for at least 2 weeks before submitting an application.

  • Must be willing to undergo extensive training to ensure your capability and competence.

  • No departmental disciplinary actions on your record.

Ground Operations for the Special Weapons and Tactics team are organized by callsigns of "SW##".

Deployment Guide

Operatives have set guidelines that they must meet before deploying S.W.A.T. The guidelines are as follows:

  • Operatives must be accompanied by a deployment officer.

  • There must be a direct call that you are responding to such as a hostage situation or an active shooter.

  • Operatives may NOT roam unless otherwise stated by the Executive Officer+.

Ranking Structure

Commanding Officer(x1)

The Commanding Officer is responsible for recruiting new members to the division and overseeing trainings as well as ensuring the division is running efficiently. The Commanding Officer is also responsible for the upkeep of divisional documents and guides. Furthermore, they're responsible for assessing any issues as they arise and ensure they're dealt with accordingly.

Executive Officer(x1)

The Executive Officer is the liaison to the Commanding Officer. They're responsible for assisting the Commanding Officer with whatever is requested, keeping up with the Commanders, and are also responsible for the upkeep of weapons, gear, and vehicles to ensure the division can function

Commander(x2)

The Special Weapons and Tactics division has two bureaus- administration and operations. The administration bureau consists of the training of operatives while the operations consist of regular deployments. Commanders will oversee one of these two bureaus and will be in charge of making sure they are running efficiently as well as their documents are kept up to date.

Major(x2)

Within the division, a Major is responsible for running either ground operations or training. Majors are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring their sub-division is stable and their documents are factually correct and all members in the division are following set rules.

Captain(x2)

Captains are the liaison to the Major. They're the deputy director of a sub-division and are responsible for the general upkeep of documents and hiring potential employees. They're also there to ensure the division is running smoothly and report any potential issues to the Major.

Lieutenant(x2)

Lieutenants are a liaison to the Captain and are responsible for doing whatever might have to be done regarding the sub-division. The Lieutenant of a sub-division is the second person people should go to for questions.

Sergeant(x2)

Sergeants are the leaders of a team. S.W.A.T. consists of two teams- Alpha(A) and Bravo(B). Sergeants+ are considered deployment officers and are the starting rank for supervisors within the sub-division. Sergeants are in charge of maintaining their operatives, keeping them in-line and on point, and doing activity checks.

Specialist(x)

The role Specialist is a seniority role within the sub-division and is used to separate entry level operatives from pre-existing.

Member who has completed their training and passed their final exam, entry level.
